Right Here
I’m learning to be grateful
for the small things—
the quiet moments
I used to rush through,
the ones I thought didn’t matter.
Like the way the morning light
comes through the window,
or how a warm cup of coffee
can slow me down.
I’m trying to pay attention
to what today is handing me,
instead of waiting for some bigger,
better moment to show up.
Because most of life
is made of these little things—
the everyday conversations,
the simple routines,
the beauty that shows up
out of nowhere.
And if I’m not careful,
I’ll miss all of it
while looking for something else.
So today I’m choosing
to notice what’s here.
To be grateful for what was,
to be grateful for what is,
and to trust there will be
something to be grateful for
in what’s to come.
