New Beginnings

The morning begins with a whisper of light,

a slow, steady sunrise,
spilling gold across the sky.

The silence of another morning sounds like mercy,
a gentle invitation: there is room for us.
I step into the day with empty hands,
and God, generous, fills them.

Today, like yesterday, is a table set with newness.
Beginnings are rarely tidy—
they wobble, they falter,
they forget the words and try again anyway.

This is grace: the audacity of another chance,
even when I’ve botched the last dozen.
Still, God keeps showing up at dawn,
hands full of mercy,
reminding me His love is enough,
and enough is plenty.

This is how beginnings arrive:
quiet, humble, waiting to be noticed.
So I step forward,
trusting hope to guide the way,
trusting love will not run out.

Life begins, and begins again.
By grace, we are invited, again and again.
And I, astonished,
say yes to it all.
